The Sanya Innovation and Development Exhibition, one of the activities of the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Annual Conference 2023, opened on March 28 in Dongyu Island Cultural Park, Boao, Hainan. At the exhibition, the Sanya Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City spared no effort in the layout and content of the "Science and Technology Innovation" exhibition area.

Sanya Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City is one of the key parks of the Hainan Free Trade Port. Its primary focuses are deep-sea technology and the "Nanfan" seed industry, complemented by life sciences, the digital economy, and other industries. (Editor’s note: Nanfan refers to a method of cultivating summer crops in south China after the autumn harvest is complete in the northern regions.)

The "Science and Technology Innovation" exhibition area is replete with many never-before-exhibited pieces. Graphics, videos, real objects, models, and other formats have been combined with VR and live display technologies to create all-round, multi-dimensional, multi-perspective dynamic scenes that showcase developments in scientific innovation in the Hainan Free Trade Port.

Here, people can learn about the novel zero-emission, low-carbon fish and vegetable symbiosis system and get up close with new varieties of fruits and vegetables. They can even have a go at operating a 1:2.2 scale model of the manned submersible Fendouzhe (Striver) or take a look at the models of the manned submersible Shenhai Yongshi (Deep Sea Warrior), Tansuo-1, and Tansuo-2 scientific research ships and Hainan-1(01) and (02) optical satellites, as well as live coral breeding and undersea ecosystem displays.
