The heat-tolerant "Jingjingxiang No 8" rice variety, ideal for Hainan's climate, had its first harvest in Sanya's Yazhou district on May 6. It aims to expand japonica rice cultivation in Hainan, targeting an average yield of 551.7 kg per mu (0.07 hectare).
